Wine Sensory Course

Gina generously encouraged me to attend a wine sensory and evaluation course in Davis over the weekend. The first day was seven hours of physiology lectures and smelling trials, and only on the second day did we dive into flight after flight of blind taste tests. All followed by spitting into a plastic cup, of course, which sounds pretty funny surrounded by 49 other spitters. The best suggestion for improving wine aroma detection: pick up and smell every item in the fresh food section of the grocery store.
