Chocolate German Cake

The Martin families from Los Altos and Pleasanton came over for beer, sausages, and German Chocolate Cake. Funny how the little ones can be so full (or can't stop bouncing around with each other) until they are presented with CAKE. Posted by Picasa

A Big Day

Nate's been resisting potty training despite our gentle urging and purchases of reward trains and Thomas underwear. "Too scary" he would always say. But last night determination must have gotten the better of him. After seeing Julie idly sitting on the little potty, he whipped down his pants and asked for diaper removal, then strained his way to his first #2. The look on his face afterwards was precious: entirely proud.

This morning, not to be outdone, Julie apparently went into the potty and did the same for the first time ever. Gina called me so Julie could share the news. The conversation in it's entirety: "Daddy, I put poopies in potty. Happy day! I want ham."

Lots of Questions

Julie is talking up a storm lately, most of which we understand. Nate continues to ask lots of questions, some funnier than others:
  • What's inside of people?
  • Why can't people see their bottoms?
  • Are clouds chewy or sticky?
  • Why does only the bottom part of people mouths work? (meaning, the bottom jaw)

Pumpkin Pie

Pumpkins

In our annual tradition since Nate was born, we spent the last day in September (actually, first day in October) going to Half Moon Bay for pumpkin picking, goat petting, train riding, and eating pumpkin pie. Posted by Picasa
