We had a quiet birthday celebration for Julie -- a 3-D showing of "Wreck it Ralph" with the family at Pleasant Hill (really good, actually!) and then Gina's homemade chocolate/vanilla two-layer swirl cake before opening presents.

Julie's Pre-Birthday
To accomodate people's schedules, we did Julie's birthday party the day before at Skandia with a few of Julie's school friends. Lots of fun indoor-jungle gym and then skee-ball & pinball fun. Only one drink spill on the way home, but what are leather seats for?
Bird Strike
We seem to be getting a lot of bird strikes on our window lately. Not our cleanliness, apparently, but luckily the past few birds have been fine after a bit of warm hands and soothing words.

Four more years!
We went to a friend's house to watch the election returns, ordering pizza and doling out iPads to the kids bored with all the stats and talking heads on CNN. Sooner than we expected -- 8:20pm to be exact -- we were toasting a new/old president. Cookies and champagne quickly ensued. Such a great day!

Giants World Series 2012
