Nate's Eye View

. This group of pictures taken by Nate at Grandmom's breakfast at the Fountain Restaurant in the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose. He's a budding photographer! These are more focused than mom's many attempts. The hotel lobby was all decked out for Christmas complete with model trains representing all different international country scenes. Wow! The restaurant itself featured a little train that Nate had to take a picture of with a little help from Uncle Dan, you can see them in the mirror reflection.

SF Zoo

I took Nate and Julie to the SF Zoo, along with half of San Francisco. Our big hits this time (we're now members) were the petting zoo and brushing goats, hippos, the steam train, and the lions.

Thanksgiving 2006

Another year, another successful Thanksgiving dinner (good job on the turkey, Dan).

CalTrain

I skipped worked on Wednesday, and by popular demand we rode Caltrain up to San Francisco. How relatively quick and painless, at least midweek / midday.

Gina made chocolate cake with pink frosting from scratch, and it couldn't have been completed soon enough. Here's two eager frosting tasters willing to lend a helping mouth. 

Mountain Bike Riding

I braved the early fog (and occasional horse) to ride around Arastradero Preserve in Palo Alto this morning.

Palace Hotel - San Francisco

Gina & H.M. ("Grandmom") went to San Francisco for a manicure and luxurious tea-time outting to celebrate the upcoming 70th birthday.

Zoo Day

 
Took Julie and Nate to the zoo before it rained and also to get them outside since they've been in so much recuperating from various bugs. Highlights this time around were the hippos, giraffes, peacocks wandering around the picnic tables, lions and tigers lounging in the sun, and the monkeys swinging around the penguins.
