We couldn't spend all our time at the beach (okay, maybe we could). We did need to meet up with firefighter Mark Martin, and found our way to the world's best crepes in Arcata and also Six Rivers Brewery, a favorite stop. After visiting Arcata, we drove out to Blue Lake and happened upon a huge fish hatchery and walkable river where Nate practiced his river otter swim method in two feet of water. On our way up to Eugene, we stopped in Klamath to hike the Trees of Mystery and take the new tram ride up above the foggy tree line.
