ZooLights
One of our hightlights so far has been the Oregon Zoo Zoolights trip. We bundled up on a chilly but clear night and took MAX from our hotel room directly to the Zoo. Despite the throbbing crowds, we braved our way for a ride on the lighted zoo train and then walked through the festive lights before Nate and Julie let it be known it was time to take the train back home.
Portland!
We arrived in Portland on Thursday and the very next day we were on MAX and the downtown trolley in search of the new Sky Tram. The crowds were light given the upcoming holiday, so we had no problems hopping on and off. Later we spent more time in our hotel (Hotel Monaco) getting to know Art, the resident yellow lab.

Visiting Grandmom at the Forum
Before we left for Portland, we attended Grandmom's choir holiday concert and then the next day visited for present exchange and mandatory viewing of the Martin model christmas train.

Holiday concert
On Wednesday and Thursday at Beresford Monetessori the classes walked to a nearby senior's center for the school's annual holiday concert. Here is the Thursday three-year old class singing "It's a Small World" with Nate and Julie both attending (front row, on the right)...and actually better performed than the Nate's Wednesday 4 yr old class. Other songs they performed: Jingle Bells, My Dreydel, Deck the Halls, Up on the Housetop, When Santa Comes, and (Julie's favorite) Cascabeles.

Redwood City Hometown Holidays
We again attended this year's (chilly) holiday in downtown RWC. The day started with us bundling Nate and Julie for a brief stint in the snow area for snowball fights (Nate) and snow gazing (Julie). We then watched the ice sculptures in front of the courthouse before grabbing a hot chocolate and treat nearby. After naps, we came back to watch the little parade, tree lighting and fireworks before grabbing dinner downtown at City Pub. 10 minutes later, you've never seen two more pooped out kids.

Hiking in Edgewood
Nate and Julie were bouncing off the walls, so we took them on a long hike at our nearest park. Uphill. We drive by Edgewood Park almost every day, but it had been a long time since we took the trails and the first time without baby carrier.
